I realised now that the lowly Jesus of Nazareth , cradled in a manger , furnished the only parallel in history to this invincible apostle of Indian liberty who loved humanity with surpassing compassion and to use his own beautiful phrase , ' approached the poor with the mind of the poor ' . मैं अब समझ सकती हूं कि अस्तबल के बिछौने में पड़ा हुआ नजरेथ का नन्हा यीशू इतिहास में एकमात्र सादृश्य हैभारतीय स्वाधीनता के उस अपराजेय देवदूत का , जिसने मानवता से पूरी सहानुभूति के साथ प्रेम किया और अपने सुंदर शब्दों में जो “ गरीबों का मन लिए गरीबों के पास पहुंचा . ”
